Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa, on the economy:
"One of the few good things to come out of this crisis is that we don't have to put up with those yuppies of Lehman Brothers, Standard & Poor's and J.P. Morgan. When I was minister, it was unbearable to have a line of those kids asking for an appointment so that I could do their job. They'd ask you for your analysis and then present it in a report as if were their own."Hardy harz. But should we really be wasting precious time laughing at these finance losers as we stand at the precipice of Global Economic Catastrophe? Oh wait, right. Carry on, then!

"Pseudo-progressive"? I dunno, from where I sit, Correa looks like a pretty damn real progressive in every sense. It must be galling to those who still subscribe to the "yuppie" economic prescriptions to see HIS anti-yuppie policies actually WORKING, though.

They dropped the ball on this one.
Unfortunately 99% of the yuppies are fine, and the real fat cats already cashed in long ago.
What's happening now is a massive public bailout that will suck money away from far more productive uses, while at the same time the world economy declines including in Ecuador and Venezuela.
Homeboys need to go beyond the superficial dichotomies to hit the real story. This pseudo-progressive semi-offensive jabbing does nothing for anyone.
