The Christian Science monitor explains how Chavez´s huge electoral victory last Sunday has "emboldened" his supporters.

The Washington Post explains how Chavez´s huge electoral defeat last Sunday has "energized" his opposition.

Colombian officials refused to disclose the financers of a referendum that would allow Uribe to run for office again, so of course they turn out to be the pyramid scheme scandal people.

OMG the Russians are in South America, and making strategic military alliances with this rogue government down there, Peru.

Remember that Osama bin Laden guy? Well he is alive, healthy and, naturally, working as a cop in Bogota.

OMG come back.

Where else are we supposed to get our news in a conveniently snarky, easily-digestible format!?

Help.

And the "miracle laptopS" are back! The gift that just keeps giving...

http://www.ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=44899

With corrupt 'free tradist' and Bush pal, Alan Garcia in Peru earning an approval rating like Bush's (20%) suddenly the "miracle laptopS" arrive to tag his opposition as "terrorists" on the word of Alvaro Uribe--president of Colombia's hideous rich elite--the Colombian security forces (over 40 union leaders murdered this year alone), and probably Donald Rumsfeld's "Office of Special Plans in Exile."

Get this: "The police also want the justice system to summon former presidential candidate Ollanta Humala of the Nationalist Party, to provide explanations to the authorities on his meetings with a Venezuelan member of the Latin American Parliament (PARLATINO), Amílcar Figueroa, a supporter of left-wing Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez who is accused of having contact with the FARC."

Gestapo Byzantium: Contact with a legislator who supports Chavez, a democratically elected president, whom the same "miracle laptopS" have been used to slander as a "terrorist-lover,"** means that the person who had contact with the Chavez-friendly legislator--who just happens to be the candidate who nearly beat Alan Garcia in the last presidential election--needs to be brought in for "questioning."

---

**(Chávez, "who is accused of having contact with the FARC," had contact with the FARC when Colombia's Alvaro Uribe REQUESTED that Chavez contact the FARC to get FARC hostages released! I smelled a rat then, and the "miracle laptopS" are its stinking corpse.)
