Zelaya's Back Then, Mabye?!

drudgesiren2.gif

  • AFP headline reads "Honduran teams agree plan to restore ousted president"
  • BBC: "'Deal agreed' in Honduras crisis"
  • From Reuters: ""I wouldn't talk of an end to the political crisis, but an exit, yes," Victor Meza, a close aide to Zelaya, told reporters..." What does that even mean?
  • Deal or no deal? There are exactly two perspectives on this, as always, in America's premier PoMo newspaper of record.
  • Naturally Michelleti's people are trying to scuttle the agreed upon deal because, what dicks, according to CNN.

*SPECIAL 24 HOURS AFTER THIS IMPORTANT BREAKING NEWS EVENT UPDATE*: We got nothin'.

"...unruly protests, media crackdowns and aggressive policing..."

God-fucking-DAMN. Is THAT what they call it? I'd have called all that FASCISM. They make it sound like hardly anything happened. And of course, they don't note the death toll.

Gorilletti is really killing the clock on this dictatorship thingie of his.

OMG, that skank Paris the Heiress must be throwing a shit-fit right about now. LOL

BTW, any news on Mel? Is he back behind his desk yet? Huh? Huh? Huh?

Chávez said the name's gonna change, no more pitiyanqui "Hilton", to be changed: "Hilton, ese nombre no es de aquí, le pondremos uno criollito"

O no! Now all the Hilton guests must dress in fatigues like Fidel and grow that beard!

It seems the ownership structure hasn't changed, the minority shareholders stay minority shareholders the way they were; but the management will be different ...

I thought you all might like this.

Yesterday, Hugo Chavez was "seizing" the Hilton at Isla Margarita, according to AFP and AP and associated meatheads like this one:

Today it turns out that the government has been the majority stockholder in this property since 1995 and that the timing was a result of a contract with Hilton expiring on the 13th.

I myself love these "Hugo Chavez stole my oil rig" urban legends. They're 'way cooler than "The Vanishing Hitchhiker" or "The Hook". You have to be Chavez to get away with stealing a whole hotel -- from yourself. :-)

Sigh. Another day, another former (deputy) director of Colombia's intelligence agency DAS arrested, this time for the assassination of a leftist Senator on the streets of Bogota in 1994.
